After almost four years since the release of Two Door Cinema Club’s critically acclaimed album, Beacon, they’re finally back with the new single “Are We Ready? (Wreck)”. Early Wednesday morning, the band tweeted out a link to a new video on their YouTube channel, accompanied by the question, “Are We Ready?”. The 30 second video is a dreamy montage of scenery and faces, featuring the familiar guitar chords that we all know and love, but nothing more.
The following day, the band’s social media accounts (@twodoorcinemaclub on Instagram and @TDCinemaClub on Twitter) posted a digital note explaining their absence and informing fans on what’s to come.
Are we ready?? Yeah we’re ready! Thank you for being patient and sticking with us. We needed some time but now we’re back bigger, better and stronger. We’re excited to show you exactly what we’ve been up to, so let’s get this started!
Early Tuesday morning, the band finally released the newly anticipated song through BBC Radio 1 and the iconic Annie Mac. Similar to their previous music, “Are We Ready? (Wreck)” features an upbeat tune, layered with lead singer Alex Trimble’s complex vocals and a catchy choir. Beginning slow and steady, the song gradually picks up in rhythm and leads to an intense chorus of theoretical monologue.
With the confirmation of a third album and world tour via Twitter exchanges with fans and an interview with Annie Mac, Two Door Cinema Club has successfully made their long awaited comeback and is ready to pick things up from where they left off. They’re ready, are you?
